Everything you need to be smarter with your money, delivered weekly.
I have something fun, and a little different to share today: a new project.
You’re part of a newsletter that I write to thousands of people each week, something that I can’t even describe how grateful I am for. What I got from a survey I sent out a while ago was that a lot of you like having those money and life discussions, but you don’t often have them with your friends.
So I figured, why not have a conversation?
Today I’m sharing a little project Jordan and I have been working on – our own Worth Project. It’s a podcast about money, life, and what makes it good.
Really, it’s for people who want a little more out of life. Here’s the gist of it:
If you’ve ever wanted to do something different, but you felt stuck, I can completely relate.
This is exactly how we felt. We’ve been living a good life, but we’ve always done exactly what we’re told we should do. Changing things up was something we’d do…someday.
As the days have been flying by — and blending together — we’ve realized that life is too short to keep waiting for someday. This is our project to figure out what we want to do and how to make the money work. We’re taking you on our journey as we’re setting out to live life a little differently. By sharing our experience we hope that you’ll join in and decide to shake things up a little in your life as well.
Each Tuesday we’ll have a new conversation to listen to about money, minimalism, mindset, and living a great life — and the small changes we can make to get big results. Because it’s time we all start living a life that’s better than fine.
This is our worth project. What’s yours?
And if you do listen, please rate, review, and subscribe. It’s not perfect (clearly) and we’re not professionals (also, clearly), but we do hope that you get something out of it.
we’ve got you covered
Baby Henry, you can do anything you want to in this life. If you’re interested in the how, and the why we started this podcast, I included the story in the show notes of the trailer episode. There are a number of reasons (including why you should start your own creative endeavor), but one of the biggest is this: Starting a podcast that someone might listen to and think is terrible is terrifying. And sometimes that sort of fear can leave us living within our safe little box, never venturing out because we’re worried about what other people think.
I don’t want to model that behavior for Henry. If I hope that he’ll try things out, become his own person, and really lean into his unique interests, I have to do the same.
This won’t be perfect, it won’t be polished. It probably won’t make any best of lists. But it will be fun and we’re excited to have a little more adventure in our lives.
How we answered, “what are we doing with our lives”. And how you can too. I feel like we all have that moment in life when we realize that we’re not living our #bestlifeever. If you feel like that, this episode is for you.
What do you get when you cross a tax adviser with a poet who likes to meditate? George Kinder, the father of life planning. Guys, our first podcast guest is the man who’s book started us on this journey. He’s extremely well known in the financial planning world and he’s incredibly smart. We were so excited to talk to — and thank — him for his work developing the 3 questions. Hear more about how he created it, how he felt stuck in his first career, and how his desire to find more freedom in his life led him to create a process that helps others do the same.

The countdown is on. I hate to be the one to remind you but taxes are due in 38 days (don’t worry, I haven’t done mine either). But while you may think there’s nothing that can be done to ease your tax bill burden from 2018, think again. If you qualify, contributing money to an IRA is a smart financial move. A traditional IRA will reduce your tax liability now and a Roth IRA will provide you tax-free gains in the future. Not sure if you qualify? Use this quiz to find out.
It’s time to start talking about money. Talking about money can be taboo and it can also bring up feelings of shame, anxiety, embarrassment. But talking about money can actually be one of the best things that you can do to improve your situation. How do you break the silence? Here’s how.
Balance for the better. Today s international women’s day. A day when we celebrate the achievement of women and issue a call to action towards gender parity. This year’s theme tackles the importance of creating a gender balanced world. One thing that definitely needs more balance? Wealth. It’s time to eliminate the gender wealth gap because women only own 32 cents for every dollar that men own. How can we start? I share 4 ideas in this article I wrote for Chime Bank.
